Job Description

Electrical Assembly Technician- Northallerton- salary up to £22,630 (DOE)

Purpose:

To assemble, integrate, inspect and test electrical control units and wiring harnesses for industrial wash equipment in a safe manner in accordance with defined build procedures, engineering specifications and standards to meet customers requirements and quality, efficiency and delivery targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Efficient and effective assembly, integration, inspection and testing of electrical control units and wiring harnesses for industrial wash equipment to defined build procedures, engineering specification and standards to meet customers requirements.
  • Work to clearly defined goals with respect to safety, quality, efficiency and delivery.
  • Provide timely feedback to line leader/supervisor/manager on any technical or quality issues that arise.
  • Ensure all manufacturing, QHSE and business documentations is completed accurately to required standard in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to general housekeeping and 5S rules ensuring a clean, tidy and organised working environment is maintained.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.

Core skills and Competencies:

  • Assembly, integration, inspection and testing of electrical control units and writing harnesses.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawing and specification.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships and engagements with internal and external teams and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, flexible approach to working hours and a motivated team player.
  • Process driven, detailed and solutions oriented, with experiences of working in a formal, continuous improvement culture.
  • Strong effective decision making, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent logical reasoning, root cause analysis, deductive problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Good communication and IT skills. 
  • Full and current UK driving License.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to productivity by communicating problems promptly to management and assisting members of immediate and wider teams when required.
  • Identify improvements and cost reduction opportunities, supporting and participating in lean and continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other staff in order to improve morale and teamwork as well as better understanding and progress towards overall company goals.
