Electrical Machine Tool Service Engineer

Experienced Machine Tool Service Engineer required to join our established machine tool service business. We specialise in the installation, commission and repair of CNC and Manual machine tools in all sectors of manufacturing.

We require a versatile service engineer with a electrical bias background to cover clients across the UK. The ideal candidate will be capable of working on there own or as part of a team in a variety of environments.

Role will include:

  • Planned Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools (PPM).
  • Reactive Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools (RM).
  • Fault finding and repairs of machine at customers premises.
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery.
  • Ordering parts.
  • Discuss and relay machine faults with the manager if required.
  • Answer customer queries on machines.

Core working hours 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 12:00 Friday however hours may differ to suit customer requirements.  Overnight stays will be expected from time to time, and all of the team are provided with Premier Inn cards to cover their hotel stays.

Interested applicants should be highly motivated and enjoy working independently or in a team, and at times under pressure on a wide variety of machinery. As you represent the company with customers, you must be highly professional in all aspects of your work. You must enjoy problem solving and taking a structured approach to your work.

You should have:

  • Prior experience in Field Service and/or Machine Tool service.
  • Electrically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC controls
  • Good knowledge of fault finding, mechanical/electrical repair.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the week, and be prepared to stay over night if required.
  • Weekend work is rare but possible.
  • Full UK driving license - preferably clean.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
