Job Description

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER, Boston

 

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our clients maintenance team and provide effective maintenance and repair service to their production departments. In addition the successful candidate will be involved with improvement projects to enhance their process capabilities. This role would be best suited to someone mid-way though or has recently finished an apprenticeship.

 

Main team responsibilities:

 

  • To maintain and improve plant and equipment efficiency
  • Attend breakdowns to resolve problems in safe and professional manner
  • Line accountability and ownership of improvement activities including technical support of autonomous maintenance activities
  • Responsibility for PPM of site plant and equipment
  • General Maintenance and other duties as directed by Site Engineer

 

Prerequisites:

 

  • A level Maths and Physics qualification
  • Demonstrate ability to use workshop equipment to manufacture basic machine parts during breakdown
  • Dedicated and flexible team player with a can-do approach
  • Ability to communicate articulately with internal staff
  • Experience in similar environment would be of distinct advantage
  • Computer literate and able to use ‘Excel’ and ‘Word’ to a basic level.

 

Desirables

  • Working towards an Electrical installation qualification

  • Working towards an Mechanical installation qualification

  • CAD experience

 

Be able to work on their own initiative but also as part of a team

 

Working Hours:

3 Shift rotating

Night Shift           Sunday Night to Friday Morning                  10.00pm – 6.00am

Early Shift            Monday Morning to Friday Afternoon          6.00am – 2.00pm   (6.00am–12.30pm on Fridays)                     

Late Shift             Monday Afternoon to Friday Afternoon        2.00pm – 10.00pm   (12.30pm – 5.00pm on Fridays)                                               

Weekends             1 weekend in 3 (minimum 12 weekends), working 10 Hrs (Paid as overtime)

 

Annual Leave:

25 days holiday per annum with various service related increments.

Training: TBA

Salary based on experience

Weekends paid as overtime
