Job Description
We are looking for an Apprentice trained and highly skilled CNC Machinist for a temp to perm role in Bradford. The company specialise in Metrology equipment and are now looking to add to their ever expanding team.
 
As an all rounder you will be able to program, set and operate Millers and Turners and be competent with Fanuc & Haas controls. 
 
 
Job Role:
  1. Programme, set-up, adjust, and operate Fanuc & HAAS controlled CNC machines in order to perform precision turning & milling operations on small batches ranging from 1-off to 50-off parts;

  2. Program vertical machining centres using OneCNC CADCAM package.

  3. Read engineering drawings and understand the specifications and tolerancing.

  4. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to produce products;

  5. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work;

  6. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines, manufacture bespoke tooling where suitable tooling is not available;

  7. Machine parts to specifications using manual machine tools such as Bridgeport milling machines, various centre lathes.

  8. Inspect parts and their dimensions using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as micrometers, DTI’s, gauge blocks;

 
Specific requirements:
  • Formal mechanical manufacture engineering qualification (or equivalent).

  • Time served apprenticeship.

  • Proficient in creation and modification of CNC code ‘at the machine’.

  • Experience in a similar high precision environment, with proven understanding of CNC machinist responsibilities;

  • Experience of programming using CADCAM  software advantageous;

  • Confident working in a busy environment with varied work demands;

  • Ability to read complex technical /engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerancing/geometrical tolerancing.

Package on Offer:

  • £12.82/hour (£25k salary based on 37.5 hours per week)
  • Mon-Thurs 07:45-16:30 & Fri 07:45-12:45
  • Standard Holidays
