Inspector ( Fabrications) - Huddersfield

My client based in Huddersfield is looking to employ on permanent basis a Quality Inspector. The overall purpose of the position is to ensure the manufactured product meets the requirements of the job pack, drawing, and customer’s specifications; and in line with the company’s quality standards and procedures.

You will ideally be doing a similar role at present or perhaps have a number of years fabrication experience and looking to come off the shop floor and be conversant with traditional measuring equipment - rulers , tapes etc and be able to read fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Read and understand drawings, job pack instruction and customer’s specifications and understanding of ISIR - Initial Sample Inspection Reports .

  2. Understands all production process which relate to the inspection and can use judgement and discretion in determining acceptable standards.

  3. Dimensionally verify compliance of sheet metal/fabricated and welded products to drawings and specifications.

  4.  Visually check the final products insuring all instruction has been completed.

  5. Carry out other inspection duties when required.

  6. Check that all “In Process Inspection “processes has been signed off with the correct batch quantities.

  7. Remove all product and/or materials that fail to meet the specifications.

  8. Complete Certificates of Conformity, if required.

  9. Manage goods received material test certificates.

  10. Complete customer’s inspection reports when required.

  11. Report any or major discrepancies to the SHEQ Manager / Technical Director immediately so corrective action be taken.

  12. Accountable for accepting responsibility for quality aspects and actively participating in quality efforts and supporting the Quality Policy.

  13. Discuss the inspection results with the SHEQ Manager/ Technical Director.

  14. Responsible in maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System.

  15. Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by following safety policies and procedures and by reporting any safety concerns.

Working hours: Mon - Thurs 7.30 - 4.00 and Fri 12.30 pm.

Salary: Up to £13.00 p/hr - £25,350 + overtime.

This is permanent position.
