Job Description
We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced QHSE Manager who will primarily be responsible for managing and implementing the quality, health, safety and environmental aspects of the business with the emphasis being on Quality and H&S.  
 
You will maintain current certifications – ISO 9001, 18001, 14001 and LPCB. Seek and obtain accreditation in further Certifications inline with Business and Industry needs.
 
The Role:
 
  • Health and Safety of all employees, visitors and contractors at:
    • Head Office and Operations facility, Bradford.
    • Sales Offices and Showroom hubs in London and Livingston.
    • Installation Teams.
  • Liaise and work closely with our External Health and Safety Competent Person.
  • Liaise and work with our External Occupational Health Provider.
  • Maintain all our ISO standards and Certifications and liaise with the relevant Certification Bodies.
  • Collect, Analyse and Present data, in appropriate forms, to senior management and the business regarding our current performance and goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate year on year improvements in all QHSE KPI’s.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Projects using the companies DMAIC road map to generate Cost of Quality savings.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain Colleagues and Suppliers for Projects on Quality.
  • Strive to make the company Environmentally friendly and Sustainable.

The key tasks involved in this role are:                      

Lead the business in identifying, reporting and eliminating Health and Safety risks to ultimately minimise opportunities for accidents and ill health.

  • Promote Health and Safety best practices.
  • Work closely with our External Health and Safety Competent Person/Consultant to ensure significant risks are identified and robust controls put in place to eliminate the risk or reduce the likelihood or severity.
  • Chair the companies Health and Safety Committee Meetings.
  • Promote a culture of reporting and resolving near misses and opportunities to improve.
  • Complete internal Health and Safety Audits.
  • Be the Health and Safety Stakeholder for the Management of change process.
  • Ensure Skills Matrix are visible and updated so line managers and supervisors can ensure no individuals perform tasks unsupervised beyond their approved level as identified.
  • Support and participate in the companies 5S strategy.
  • Working closely with the Senior Management Team to set targets and monitor the business performance.
  • Support the content and delivery of employee SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) meetings and toolbox talks and as appropriate issues and questions are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Perform rout cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are agreed and completed following an Incident or Near Miss.
  • Co-ordinate Occupational Health Assessments and any resulting follow up actions.
  • Periodically visit, audit and coach the companies Sales Hubs in London and Livingston regarding Health and Safety.
  • Liaise and accompany external certification bodies during site audits.

 
 
Qualifications
  • Manufacturing Engineering, Quality or Health and Safety HND or degree preferred.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH Qualification.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards including ISO 9001 to 2015 revision.
  • Lead Auditor Qualification and proven audit experience.
  • Time served experience in a fast passed engineering manufacturing environment with machining and welding processes.
  • At least 5 years’ experience Leading Health & Safety and Quality.
  • Worked within a culture of Lean and Continuous improvements, qualified as a Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
  • Leads by example and holds individuals accountable for following the company’s systems, policies and procedures.
  • Confident in delivering presentations and Tool Box Talks to factory personnel.
